Introducing SmartPoint

SmartPoint delivers context-based, real-time customer information directly to the desktop. This enables people to make better informed decisions more quickly by providing them with extra information in context with their current task.

Quote The clever bit of SmartPoint is that it tracks where the user is and then feeds them the relevant information, in context, identifying the transaction, the data, the function, and
so on. Quote

Technology Audit, Butler Group

Ensuring that people have the right information at the right time has become a significant challenge for many organisations. Particularly so, as the number and scope of IT systems used by an organisation increases and important information becomes spread across many different ‘silos’.

Typically, people need access to information which resides outside of the software application that supports their primary role and responsibilities, for example, a CRM system. In many organisations, this is just too difficult and, as a result, there are many occasions where users fail to find key information which may be required to complete a task successfully. In turn this can lead to poorly informed decisions and disappointing customer service.

How to tackle the problem of dispersed or hard to find information is exacerbated as organisations accumulate more and more data. Expecting individuals to know what information might be available and where it is stored and also to have the know-how to operate several different IT systems will usually lead to frustration. In most situations this is impractical as well as inefficient as users (and their customers) will neither have the time nor the patience to wade through these ’silos’ in search of the information they need.
